And: the Finnish culture is famous for being zero bullshit 🐂💩 

Making a new, modern and innovative HR platform has for us been all about listening to the people who will use it and get value from it. Therefore, Finland is perfect for Huma: we want your straight feedback and wishes so we can continue to develop Huma in the way you (and we) want.

Look to Finland 👀

In our opinion, Finland has always been a step ahead. This also reflects in the way Finns talk about work and life being in balance. The proof is in the pudding: this spring, for the fifth year in a row, Finland was named the world’s happiest country by the UN. 

And they put their money where their mouth is! The social support system that has been built over several years in Finland from pioneering mandatory vacations to the forward-leaning thinking around maternity and paternity leave, not to mention the world-famous baby boxes that the government provides to all new parents. 

All of this tells us at Huma that our thinking and approach has great synergies with people and businesses in Finland. At Huma we have always said that you are likely to spend one-third of your life at work, better make sure you spend it well. At the bottom of this lies a belief that work can be fulfilling and rewarding, but also that work “only” makes up one-third of your life. The remaining two-thirds are also extremely important, and people are living and breathing beings that don’t compartmentalize so hard that only one-third is relevant to focus on. In short, we admire and look up to how the Finnish culture reflects a sound and healthy view of work/life balance.
